In 2010 the the Bedford Town Council adopted RSA 162-K and the South River Road Tax Financing District (TIF) Development Plan. 

 

This project, which was budgeted at just over $5 million, was designed to enhance South River Road and the surrounding roads from Kilton Road to the Bedford/Manchester town line. 

 

The project was completed in July 2016.

 

Improvements include:

 

• Creating a dual-use lane along South River Rd from Park Drive to the approximate end of the improvement area (Manchester Town Line).

 

• Alignment and turning lane upgrades..

 

• Traffic signal upgrades to Colby Court and Palomino/Washington Place intersections aimed at improving traffic flow and safety.

 

• Curbing and existing sidewalk upgrades..

 

• Creation of a new sidewalk on the western side of South River Rd. providing more accessible pedestrian routes..

 

• Improved bicycle use..

 

• Providing a connection between Beaudoin St. and Washington Place..
